About Haury & Smith
For almost 60 years, Nashville area home buyers have enjoyed the feeling of confidence that comes with the purchase of a Haury & Smith home. A family-owned and operated company, we are proud of our reputation for honesty and a sincere desire to satisfy our customers. We have worked hard to build a track record of reliability, earning an unlimited contractors license.
Under the leadership of Reese Smith, Jr., the growing firm began to diversify into apartment and condominium dwellings and light commercial construction in 1969. The formula worked: by 1979, sales volume exceeded 10 million dollars per year and Haury & Smith had become a leading name in construction in Middle Tennessee. The second generation of the Smith family is now involved in Haury & Smith Contractors. Reese Smith III serves as President of Haury & Smith Contractors. Stephen B. Smith is Chairman of the Board of Haury & Smith Contractors, Inc.
Residential construction is the heart of Haury & Smith Contractors. From our origin and continuing growth in single-family housing, we pioneered the construction of condominium developments in Middle Tennessee. The list of our construction credits include Seven Hills, Tyne Valley, and Jefferson Square in Nashville, River Plantation in Bellevue, Hillsboro Hall in Green Hills, Forest Oaks in Murfreesboro, River Rest in Williamson County, and other major residential developments.
River Plantation, started in 1972 on 200 underdeveloped acres in Bellevue, has become known as the most successful garden-style condominium project in the Mid-South. More than 1,000 units have been sold at the development.
Brentwood Pointe is another successful condominium development, located just off Moore's Lane in the exciting Cool Springs Galleria Mall area. River Rest is one of Williamson County's most successful and family-oriented communities. Located on Hillsboro Road, its homeowners enjoy a superior quality of life as well as above average appreciation of their property.
Our tradition of service continued with Hunterwood, a planned unit development of single-family homes on approximately one-half acre lots. Hunterwood is also located on Hillsboro Road, directly across from River Rest.
A move to active adult communities continued in the 90’s and continues now with the Villages of Morningside in the Cool Springs, Williamson County area.
A niche’ market identifies Haury & Smith in the Green Hills area with infill re-development. The company has identified many sites for their boutique communities of patio homes. Such areas include Stammer Parke, Woodmont Close, Woodmont Hall, Hobbs Hall, Hillsboro Hall and Glen Echo Hall. With a loft style, British flats community on Music Row called Ten Ten on the Row, located at the site of the World Famous “Idle Hour”, Haury & Smith continues on the forefront of real homes in middle Tennessee.
From our family to yours for two generations, and more to come!
